Turkey uses ISIS-terror fear to push EU against Kurds

Brussels, 15 June 2015 - Middle East Diplomatic (MED) - While Kurdish forces win victory after victory against Islamic terror gangs, “Turkey is using ISIS terror threat against EU as "the Sword of Damocles" to put pressure on Europe to criminalise Kurdish organisations in its territory. There are strong reactions from the EU parliamentarians.

Sources from the European Intelligence services told to MED Diplomatic that Ankara offers cooperation and information exchange to Brussels and other European capitals in the “fight against Islamic terrorists”, if EU put more pressure on Kurdish organisations and PKK continues to be criminalized in the EU terror list. The EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator Gilles de Kerchove also confirmed the existence of such talks and discussions.

The European politicians and people working in the intelligent services are commenting that, while USA and Europe rely on the Kurdish forces, which are the only ones fighting ISIS on the ground and sacrificing thousands of lives, the labelling of PKK as terrorist by EU contradicts all the military and humanitarian support many European governments have been sending to the Kurdish fighters. US and EU are also actively cooperating with PKK sister organisations in Kobani and all Syrian Kurdistan Rojava by bombing the Islamic terrorists with airstrikes.

Talking to MED-Diplomatic, the EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator Gilles de Kerchove confirmed the existence of such talks and discussions between Turkey and EU for exchange of information on Isis and PKK.

The Turkish pre-condition has been already fulfilled in the last resolution on the progress report on Turkey voted by the European Parliament on 10 June where PKK is mentioned as listed in the EU terror list. Turkish EU Minister Volkan Bozkir already thanked EU and the EP’s rapporteur for “taking into consideration the Turkish red lines” namely to keep the listing of PKK as terror organisation and lack of help for Kurdish Kobani and Rojava region destroyed by the isis/daesh terror grops. The decission was taking by high level EU tops effected from Ankara.

During a meeting in the EP’s Foreign Affairs Committee today, Gilles de Kerchove also mentioned the deal between EU and Turkey and provoked reactions and questions of many Members of the European Parliament (MEP).

The EU parliamentarians who participated actively in the discussion with Mr. Kerchove asked about “the quality and the reliability of the information received from corrupted anti-democratic governments, policy and security institutions in the Middle East / North Africa”, which are self involved in terror and criminal activities. MEPs pointed out especially the “Turkish National Intelligence Service MIT, the Saudi and Qatar services, which actually finance and supply the terrorists with weapons”.

The MEPs criticised the “EU security institutions for spending a lot of money and efforts, but with little result”.

It has been also confirmed by high level EU sources and Kurdish top politicians in EU that the operations and arrests of the Kurdish parliamentarians, Mr. Remzi Kartal and Mr. Zubeyir Aydar, Kurdish politicians as Mr. Adem Uzun and journalists in Belgium and France were a part of that game.  And now, if EU and Turkey will cooperate actively, “forces inside of EU” might put more “new pressure against Belgium to even open court against Kurds for the Turkish satisfactions” in a period when Turkey and PKK are in peace process, which is also “supported by EU”. Kurds are accusing some EU member countries to be involved in the assassinations of 3 Kurdish women in Paris in 2013.
